Picross 3D shaping up for May 3 2010 release

If you’ve been looking for a way to tease your brain into an overloaded, catatonic state while on the go, Nintendo and HAL Laboratory will soon deliver an application that should aid in your endeavor. Picross 3D, the DS puzzle game that hit Japanese retail last March, will be released on May 3 in North America.

The announcement came during the Nintendo Media Summit and added that the game would receive DLC in the form of extra puzzles, à la Professor Layton. With continued support like that, Picross 3D could be capable of frying our brains for the foreseeable future. [via Joystiq]

Record Tripping has derived their novelty from putting a new spin on conventional mechanics, that is you’re still clicking mouses and pressing buttons, just in a different arrangement. Record Tripping cleverly realizes there’s another tool at our disposal these days: the scroll wheel.

Each puzzle in Record Tripping is in the form of something circular, and by rolling your scroll wheel back or forth, you attempt to spin the circle into position.
